Van Der Sar, the saviour?

Man U signed Van der sar. He may be a good goalie, but within 1 or 2 season, Fergie gotta search for another keeper, or hope that Tim Howard can develop as a solid keeper.

Van der sar may be a good keeper, but already passed his best time. He can hardly keep his best form for long time. However, what he can contribute not only is to train up Howard, but also organise United's defense. He has the leadership to organise the defense well. Though United's defense kept a record this year, it is obvious that their players lacks organisation.

After the news released, many people think that Fergie did another wrong signing again, but i think Van der sar is another Sheringham. 05-06 is a critical season. If no trophies can be achieved, sponsors, fans and shareholders may want to turn their back against the Red Devils. So, Ferguson has to sign an experience player to make his defense more stable. Let's wait and see how Edwin plays his role other than an ordinary keeper.

Having released Caroll and Ricardo, Fergie may need to sign one more keeper. There is a chance for the young talent Steele to promote, otherwise, Ferguson might search for Tim's sub.
